I wrote this song to point out my wrongs. A subtle reminder to emphasize that I can change. But, there’s something creeping in at night, holding back the light, but I won’t let it take the one thing I hold dear to my heart.

It cripples me. This is not how it should be. I remember when I was a child I had a sense of normalcy. The sickness sits insides my bones. Won’t you just leave me alone? I don’t want you to go, but I can’t make sense of anything anymore.

I’ve always wondered how you can rest your head and fall asleep at night.

It will take time and I know I can’t wait. Can’t go this alone, will you take me away? I try to pretend everything is okay. Lied so many times, I can see through the charades.

I won’t let it take the one thing I hold dear to my heart.
